Sports Byline USA is America's #1 Sports Talk Show. Now in its 20th year, Sports Byline USA has become the most popular radio sports talk network in the country. It's heard on nearly 200 radio stations and by 2.2 million listeners per week. Additionally, Sports Byline is heard internationally on 500 stations of the Armed Forces Network as well as in Canada and the Virgin Islands.
Sports Byline is the creation of show host Ron Barr. The idea came to Barr while he was hosting a local San Francisco sports talk show called "Evening Sports Magazine." One evening Barr was interviewing Duke Snider when a fan called in and said, "Ron, I've waited 35 years to talk with Duke Snider, and tonight you're giving me the chance." From that, Barr got the idea to launch a national sports talk show that would give fans everywhere an opportunity to talk with their sports heroes. Sports Byline is also a forum that allows listeners across the country to express their opinions about what's happening in sports and about major issues such as player strikes and gender equity.
Sports Byline USA has been called the "Nightline" of sports for its interesting, insightful and compelling presentation. Barr says, "Sports is a reflection of life, it's winning and losing; it's competing as we do in life every day. I want listeners to have an outlet for their frustrations as well as a source of information to help them form their sports opinions. Information cures ignorance."
Sports Byline USA's excellence is reflected in its Chairman/Host, Ron Barr, and its limited partnership group. Included in the group are 20-time Wimbledon Champion Billie Jean King, former NFL running back Darrin Nelson, super sports attorney Leigh Steinberg, and other successful business professionals. Additionally, Hall of Fame and 3-time Super Bowl winning coach Bill Walsh is on the Sports Byline USA Partnership Advisory Board of Directors. |
